Slippery elm is well known for its soothing effect upon the mucous membranes of the body.
Uses:
* Traditionally slippery elm was used by the native Americans for diarrhea, skin disorders and sore throat. It was also used to make household goods and canoes.
* More recently slippery elm has also been used for gastritis, Crohn’s disease, ulcers and soothing of the urinary tract and stomach.
