There was a time when people went the dentist and took it for granted that they were going to lose their teeth. Not anymore.
But the American Dental Association says baby boomers aren’t taking advantage of new ways to protect their teeth.
For better teeth:
Eat dairy foods and green vegetables for vitamin D.
- Take calcium supplements if you’re a woman over 20 or a man over 50.
- Brush and floss your teeth regularly.
- Ask your dentist about:
- deep cleanings
- new medications
- dental sealants to help prevent cavities
- painless drills
- laser treatments
Gum disease may lead to other health problems. Taking care of your teeth will protect your overall health; you will not only look better but you will feel better, as well.
