The National Cancer Institute recommends eating 5 servings of fruits and vegetables a day (ideally 2 fruits, 3 veggies). That sounds harder than it is. - 1 cup raw leafy greens (spinach, romaine lettuce, kale)
- 1/2 cup other vegetables, cooked, canned or raw (sliced carrots, broccoli pieces)
- 1/2 cup cut-up raw, cooked or canned fruit (cubed melon, applesauce)
- 1 medium fruit or vegetable (orange, banana, peach, tomato, artichoke)
- 3/4 cup (6 ounces) fruit or vegetable juice
- 2 tablespoons dried fruit (raisins)
