Capsicum Baccatum – RainForest Pepper

Seed Source:
I got the seed for these from Seed Savers Exchange. Originally the seed is from Brazil.

This is a tall plant reaching 6 feet in one season. The fruit is bell shaped measuring about 2 inches long and 1.5 inches wide and matures from green to red.

The fruit is delicious both ripe and unripe, ranging in heat from medium to hot.

This plant requires a long growing season (110 days from transplants).

Special Tips for Saving Seed:
Fruit sets well under netting, though the netting has to be adjusted often and new sections of netting added as the plant grows.
