Function:
The active constituents in red clover are thought to reduce the risk of cancer, especially breast and prostate cancer. Red clover also contains many vitamins, especially B group vitamins.
Uses:
* Traditionally red clover was used for coughs, congestion, water retention, for skin conditions and as a tonic.
* More recently red clover has also been used to reduce the risk of cancer, stimulate the immune system, for infections, inflammation of the bowel and lungs, for eczema and as a blood purifier.
Guidelines:
Red clover can be taken as tea, three cups daily, 2 – 3 teaspoons of dried flowers covered and steeped in 250 ml of boiling water for 10 minutes. Use other extracts according to label instructions.
Interactions:
Do not use fermented red clover.
