Protein: How much is enough?

I don’t get enough protein in my diet. Is it safe to take amino acid supplements to make up for what I’m not getting?

I would be curious to know what makes you think you are deficient in protein. If you are in fact deficient, the optimal solution would be to eat more protein rich foods – but keeping in mind ideal healthy ways of accomplishing this.

In addition to foods, you might consider a powdered soy protein supplement in the form of a smoothie. It would be safe to take the amino acid supplement but getting protein through foods or a food supplement would be a distinctly better choice.
