Uses:
* Traditionally essential oil of the rose was used for women’s problems, especially irregular menstrual cycles, heavy menstruation, depression, grief, post-natal depression and sadness. Rose oil was widely used in perfumes and cosmetics, however due to its price, it is now often replaced with synthetic rose fragrance.
* Rose hips are used for infections, bladder problems, diarrhea and as a source of vitamins, especially vitamin C.
Guidelines:
* Rose hip tea can be taken daily and prepared according to label instructions.
* Essential oil of the rose can be used in a compress or with carrier oil (3 – 5:100) and massaged onto the affected area for menstrual problems and for skin care.
Interactions:
Always massage in a clockwise direction over the stomach and abdomen.
